ROSE Community Development celebrated a groundbreaking ceremony for Woody Guthrie Place – a 64-unit affordable housing development in Lents – on Wednesday, September 13, 2017. Woody Guthrie Place will be one of the first mixed-income housing projects to be built in the rapidly growing urban renewal district, which includes Lents Town Center. Resident households can have qualifying incomes ranging from 30% to 100% of Area Median Income. 15 units have Project-Based Section 8 vouchers. Public funding partners include Multnomah County, Home Forward, Prosper Portland, Portland Housing Bureau, and Metro. Portland General Electric’s renewable energy fund is supporting a solar photo voltaic system and electric vehicle charging stations. The project will be LEED gold or higher.
