The “Lents Grown” Story Yard is now open at SE 88th and Foster- a public art installation that uses photography and storytelling to celebrate the uniqueness of the Lents community. We believe that small business owners and farmers market vendors are part of what make our community unique- and we want to share their story! In the summer of 2014, neighborhood youth interviewed and helped photograph these community members for the Story Yard installation.
The Lents Grown Story Yard was developed by ROSE CDC as a way to bring more art to the Lents neighborhood and involve youth in celebrating our multicultural business community. At PDC’s request, Propel Studio Architecture and ROSE Community Development created a joint plan for 8801 SE Foster Road. ROSE CDC will be working with local southeast Portland photographer Dawn DeAno to photograph local business owners and farmers market vendors, in order to support our local business community and celebrate our multicultural identity.
