The Baby Booster Initiative recognizes that chronic stress from parents negatively affects health outcomes for children. One way to counter that is by increasing access to affordable housing.
We work with a core group of culturally-specific social service agencies to identify women who are pregnant or have children under two that are in need of affordable housing and provide them with education around accessing ROSE’s affordable housing.
Our social service partner agencies provide additional support to families for a year after move-in. Support may include translation/interpretation or connecting families to culturally specific resources.
“It’s beautiful. It’s a family. When you need something, you have somebody to listen and support. Baby Booster helps everybody and is open to the community. When you are doing something for the kids you’re doing everything for the community.”
